Call of the Druids; young adult or quick adult read.

When I started writing Call of the Druids I had the Shadow Hunters TV series in mind. Young adults fighting evil, dealing with raw emotions and trying to follow their destiny. But I also had a different writing style planned, one that focussed on dialogue and scene setting, not internal voice or back story.

The result was a slightly shorter book than I intended but it flows well and my editor agrees, I produced my tightest first draft yet.

So what’s it about?

Ariela is the daughter of Nina and Salaman (from the Covenant of Grace series). She’s been living a sheltered life in Shiloh amongst the Priestess Order, protected from danger by her parents who have never allowed her to embark on a mission with the other Priestesses.

She’s frustrated and desperate to get involved and use her powers (which she is yet to fully discover) to fight evil.  When she turns eighteen she is sure she will be allowed to journey beyond the walls of Shiloh. Unfortunately the King has other plans. She’s a princess after all and David has promised her in marriage to broker peace with the Philistines. Ariela will do anything to avoid the wedding; even travel in time to fight a war to save magic, something forbidden and frightening to the Ariela.

She believes the Angel Raziel will aid her, but when she opens her eyes on a new and different world, she is faced with fear for the first time and she wonders if she has made the right choice.

Call of the Druids is available on all digital platforms for a month, after which I will be listing it on Kindle Unlimited just to try out the service. If you use Apple, Kobo or B&N please make sure you grab your copy within the first 30 days.
